SCA Constitution
The Standing Committees and Duties
In order to perform certain specific duties and responsibilities of the Student Cooperative Association, and to guarantee representation from the student body, standing committees are established.Each standing committee of the student council shall be vested with specific responsibilities.
A. The Calendar Committee: Shall be in charge of the Student Council monthly calendar highlighting upcoming events.
B. The Community Service Committee: Shall be in charge of all fundraising going towards charity such as the annual United Way Campaign, The Thanksgiving Project, Angel Tree, canned food drive and other service projects throughout the year.
C. The City-Wide SCA Committee: Shall be the Official School Cooperative Association Representative for the school and attend monthly citywide meetings. Also in charge of creating a skit each month to highlight projects at FC (school report). In charge of supporting and publicizing all City-Wide SCA projects.
D. The Election Committee: Shall supervise all elections requiring the vote of the student body.
E. Fundraising Committee: Shall in charge of any SCA fundraisers and SCA scholarships.
F. The Homecoming Committee: Shall be responsible for coordinating the entire Homecoming Week.
G. The Marquee Committee: Shall be responsible for putting notices on the marquee.
H. The Battle of The Bands Committee: Shall be in charge of organizing and supporting Battle of The Bands.
I. The Publicity Committee: Shall promote school activities and events.
J. The Student Correspondence Coordinator: Shall be in charge of notifying students of upcoming meetings.
K. The Spirit Committee: Shall at all times promote school spirit and pride through pep-rallies, spirit days, Patriot Prowlers and other spirited projects.
L. The Sportsmanship Committee: Shall be responsible for the Sportsmanship/Academic Student Awards and First Colonial Coach of the Year Award. Work with the Spirit Committee on related projects.
M. The Student Exchange Committee: Shall organize exchanges with other schools throughout the school year. This committee will create informative packets for visiting students. (Example: Spend a day with Kellam SCA and then the next day they spend it with FC)
N. The Student Faculty Committee: Shall be responsible for promoting student/faculty relations through various projects.
O. The Scrapbook Committee: Shall work with the Reporter/Historian to make the annual SCA scrapbook.
Other projects will be scheduled throughout
the school year.
