Communication Technology

Photography and Printing
Half Credit – Grades 9-12
In Photography and Printing students study the processes and skills used in black and white photography and screen printing. Activities emphasize the sue of the 35 mm camera, digital; photography, studio lighting, developing film and prints, and screen printing. Skills developed in this course will benefit students in science, math, journalism, art, and visual language. Photography and Printing is designed for students who are interested in careers in publishing, TV/video production, multi-media, and advertising.

Computers and Communication Technology
Half Credit – Grades 9-12
Learn about desktop publishing, computer publishing, lasers and audio/video productions. Activities include computer graphics, digital photography, multi-media communications and the printing of note pads, business cards and T-shirts.

Graphic Communications
One Credit – Grades 10-12 (Prerequisite Photography and Computers and Communications)
Graphic Communications is a second-year course in obtaining the knowledge and skills used in the information age. Activities involve applying math, science and English to color/digital photography, computer systems, scanning and the printing processes. Skills developed in this course enhance student knowledge in both academic and technical subjects. Graphic Communications is designed for students who are interested in careers in information handling, publishing, TV/Video production, multi-media, and advertising. Students will also enhance photography skills; capture, edit and produce digital videos. Master the art of screen-printing and computer based graphics.

Technical Design and Illustration

Basic Technical Drawing
One Credit – Grades 9-12
Learn the language of industry and technology. Translate your concepts to dimensional drawings using computer-aided drawing (CAD). A great course for future architects, designers or engineers

Architectural Drawing
One Credit – Grades 10-12 (Prerequisite Basic Technical Drawing)
Learn how to design homes and structures. What makes for a good design? Use the latest in computer software and CAD to make your concepts come to life

Physics of Technology PowerPoint

Physics of Technology I & II
One-Two Credit courses – Grades 11-12
An exciting hands on way of learning physics. Students through interactive lab experiences learn the laws of physics. A great course for those entering engineering or the technical trades. Complete both years and earn one science credit and one elective credit.

Production Technology

Construction Technology
One Credit – Grades 9-12
Work on projects to help you understand the job of architects, carpenters, plumbers, electricians, and a variety of other trades persons. Build sheds or scale models

Production Systems
One Credit – Grades 9-12
Be part of a team to organize and operate a manufacturing company. Design, make, and market a product. Experience the jobs of planners, designers, engineers, and machine operators. Work with woods, metals, and other materials.

Materials Technology
One Credit – Grades 9-12
Explore the structure of metals and ceramics as used in industry today. Build projects and crafts that reinforce the knowledge of properties and their uses.

Control Technology

Electricity/Electronics I
One Credit – Grades 10-12
Learn circuit design and troubleshooting skills through construction of standard household circuits. Build printed circuit boards. Computer based training and electronic kits.

Power and Transportation/Small Engines
One Credit – Grade 9-12
Explore the different power generating systems; electrical, fluid, and mechanical. Experiment with hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Learn about vehicle systems. Learn to repair small gas engines. Do problem-solving activities to design and build vehicles and a mousetrap vehicle.
